You can find most links to items in my home under the “shop” tab. I have divided it up for each room to make it easy for you! Some items are not available anymore, so I do my best to link similar items. For seasonal decor throughout my home, you will find that under the LIKEtoKNOW.it section. What paint colors do you use?
The number one question I get asked, what is that paint color? For our home, I went with a neutral color palette. This allows me to easily change up the decor inside. I’ve listed below the colors that I used. Keep in mind that different lighting settings and editing can make a color look completely different in your home. Make sure to always order samples and test in different areas and lighting to get just the color you want!
- All the trim, shiplap, doors and cabinets in our home are BM White Dove (Other favorite whites are BM Chantilly Lace, BM Simply White, SW Alabaster)
- Master Bedroom and bathroom are BM Collingwood
- Powder Bathroom is BM Collingwood
- Dining Room is BM Cape May Cobblestone
- Boys Rooms and Bathrooms are BM Smoke Embers
- Hallways and Entryway are BM Revere Pewter
- Exterior Is PPG Roller Coaster and the Trim is SW Eider White
What Stone, Beams, and kitchen backsplash Did we use in Our Home?
We used a faux stone from Creative Mines. It was their Limestone collection and the color is green tea.
Our beams are reclaimed and I purchased the from Elmwood reclaimed timber. They were so amazing to work with. I shared inspiration pictures with them and they hunted down just the look I wanted. They shipped them right to the house. I wish I could have been here on the day they were delivered! It took a lot of manpower and lifts to get them inside.
Kitchen backsplash is from www.cletile.com. It is their Zelliage weathered white bejmat 2”x6”x3/4” tile. It has a pearlescent finish to it that makes it appear grayish. Please take note that it is thicker than a usual subway tile. We used a sanded white grout to make it pop! This tile also looks beautiful just stacked without grout lines.
What Flooring IS in your Home?
Many see our floors throughout our home and think they are “real” hardwood Floors. But, they are actually Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring from Coretec. I wanted low maintenance floors and our contractor recommended that I look into them. I am so happy I did, because these floors sure can take a beating! With 3 boys and a dog, they are constantly being put to the test! We have lived in our home 3 years now and the floors still look like the day they were installed!
When you are choosing the best one for you, bring home samples! Colors can look different in the showroom lighting vs your home. Put them to the test! Scratch them up with various materials, drop items on them, spill things, ect…. See how they hold up! Place in sunshine to see the reflection when they are dirty. Have pets? Put some shedded hair on it to see how it looks, does it stand out or blend in? These were all things I thought about when I decided on our floor!
Though I love our floors, I did want to point out a few of the negatives. It dents! Where heavy furniture rests on the floor, it leaves dents! These are only noticeable to me when the sun shines in just right, but they don’t really go away.
Another issue is that you can see footprints on the floor. They did easily clean up, but again, if the sun is shining in just right, they are there! We did go with a darker floor, so I’m sure they show up more than a lighter floor, but if this will drive you crazy, this is not the floor for you!
Overall, the benefits of this floor outweighs the few negatives. I would not hesitate to use this flooring again. Hope this review helps you when you are considering what floors to choose!
